About Kris Patton
Kris has been practicing law for over twenty years. As a trial attorney, she has helped hundreds of families navigate the legal system. Kris understands the weight, concern, and anxiety litigants carry when they walk into an unfamiliar building and put their unique case in the hands of a total stranger. As a judge, Kris would bring that understanding and compassion to the bench. She firmly believes that judges should possess the intellectual curiosity to study the law, listen to the evidence, and apply the law faithfully to the unique facts each case brings. Lee County’s court system is overrun with cases, and Kris believes that her handling of the caseload can alleviate the backlog that the county’s court is currently witnessing.
Kris moved with her family to Auburn in 2014 and immediately fell in love with the community and its people. She joined the law firm Akridge & Balch, P.C. in 2014 where she has worked extremely hard to prove herself as a prominent attorney who fights for her clients. Kris graduated from law school with honors in trial advocacy. Outside of the courtroom, Kris is the mother of two children and an adorable Pug named Puddles. Kris and her husband recently celebrated their ten-year anniversary. They are active members of Auburn United Methodist Church.
Kris has practiced law for more than 20 years. She has her own private practice while also being an active Deputy Attorney General. Kris brings new light to a District Court Judgeship with her strong background in family and juvenile law.
Kris views neutrality as one of the most important qualities of a judge. Her legal background evokes qualities from both sides of the courtroom. Through this neutrality, Kris believes that she can bring consistency to the bench.

Kris understands the weight that is carried over to litigants during their time in court. Kris knows what it is like to have to encourage those going through hardship. This practice of strength and empathy is what brings her to the passion she has for an elected judicial position.
